Veteran receiver Lewis is big hero for Vikings

Greg Lewis made the play of the day with a leaping 32-yard touchdown catch in the final seconds to lift the Minnesota Vikings to a 27-24 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Lewis was signed after the Vikings cut popular veteran Bobby Wade the week before the opening game of the season. He was inactive for the first two games of the year and was only up on Sunday because Percy Harvin missed some time with migraines this week.

On just his fourth play of the game, Lewis rolled right when Brett Favre slid up in the pocket and leaped over 49ers safety Mark Roman to make the catch in the end zone. He somehow got both feet in bounds for the winning score.
